The Challenge
Ryan owns Sales Recruiting University, a sales recruitment agency based in Murray, Utah.
He’s been in the business for the past 10 years and has helped companies in high-volume commission-based sales recruiting.
His company has been seen in Forbes due to his signature recruitment process called “Six Figure Recruiter.”
Early 2021, his company was expanding as he needed to cater to more clients. He hired an advertising agency to help him out.
Initially, the ads set up by the agency were performing well. Until the cost per application
started to increase and they needed to shelf out more money for advertising.
THE EXPERIENCE
I started finding out what’s wrong with
their current ads.
- One thing that struck me is the agency
they previously worked with simply
launched a set of ads, and did not
optimize them. - There was also no proper conversion
tracking set up. Without proper
conversion tracking, Ryan could not
identify the accurate cost per
conversion and is therefore running his
ads blind. - Instead of the cost per application
going down, it was getting more
expensive. One of the main reasons
for this is because of ad fatigue. To
eliminate this problem, it’s either we
target new audiences or create more
compelling ads.
These were some of my recommendations
- Set up more ad creatives to have more winning ads.
- Ryan to share video ad creatives we can use
- Ryan to use image creatives we can use as ads
The Solution
I wanted to start fresh in order to find out the real problem and bring in profitable results fast. So I turned off the ads that were used by the previous agency.
We tested new ad creatives and targeted new audiences. After testing, we scaled winning audiences and ads. I closely monitored the performance of the ads and optimized it from time to time making sure we are on budget and we only utilize ads that work.
One of the ads I set up generated 89 applications. We were also able to manage to keep our overall Cost Per Application (CPA) at $58.
(Their former CPA was at $291)
The Results
After seeing the results I was able to generate and how diligent I amwith optimizing our ads, I received a message that Ryan wanted to scale to a $40K to $50,000 a month advertising budget!
